[BeagleBoard] Beagle Battery Module in Production
UPDATE This module has been produced; see here: CLICK
There is no really good battery for the Beagleboard that can really deliver the juice with efficiency, let alone for a good price. That is why, i made this ~3″ x 3″ [10x10cm] board that can take up to four Lipo battery modules, with four independent charging fast-charging circuits for all four batteries. You have to use at least two batteries, max four, from small ones of 300mAh to big fat 6000mAh’s.
It also includes a microprocessor that monitors the batteries health, and shows through four RGB LED’s, and a temp sensor. Also, this info can be requested through the USB port, so that the Beagle board knows the exact battery status.
They have multiple power outputs over USB so you can use it on more shields like this [i am developing some at the moment, prototypes of cellphone, GPS and radio modules are in production as well as we speak].
Anyway i wanted to share the newest board i made, you can see the board and schematics below.
I currently have 10 in production as prototype. I only want to keep 2. The other 8 are for sale for $5 each. $5? Yes, five dollars, so that i make a $3 profit. The boards are nice and red and include the white silkscreen. Ofcourse you have to solder and mount (&buy) the components on them yourselves – a good hour of work. I will include a BOM. Also, of course there is a possibility they do not work at all, hence, “prototype bèta”.
FYI: this module will be used on the SpaceCamera Live project due to launch in november [see right menu button]
